veCAKE unlocking is underway and everything is progressing according to the PCS plan.
Now, all eyes are on CKP.
It’s time to focus on the road ahead. Aside from PCS, I believe Magpie also needs to step up.
Here’s my proposal to maximize the value of our CKP tokens. I’d love to hear your thoughts or any alternative ideas:
Part A – PancakeSwap Compensation
The $1.5M in CAKE should be used as bribes for vlCKP holders, distributed evenly over one year.
That means 1/26 of the total — approx. 57,700 CAKE (assuming Cake price is at 2$ when distributed so 750,000 CAKE will be the compensation) — every 14 days, claimable via the protocol.
Part B – Magpie Compensation
Magpie must also contribute.
We are a core part of the ecosystem, and this incident caused real, significant losses.
This is not a suggestion — it’s a requirement. The community needs to see tangible support from Magpie, beyond just words.
Let’s work together to get the best possible outcome.
I believe the Magpie team should consider offering fair compensation to vlCKP holders who were affected by the recent events.
On April 7th, one day before PancakeSwap announced the veCAKE sunset (which led to the collapse of CKP price), the Magpie team published a confident roadmap update (attached), stating that everything was aligned with PancakeSwap and presented future plans such as “PancakeSwap Alignment” and mCAKE auto-compounding.
This gave me and other investors I represent the impression that things were secure. Based on that, I decided to increase my investment in CKP and also lock thousands of tokens, right before the PCS announcement on April 8th which drastically changed the token’s future.
While I do not believe the Magpie team acted maliciously or had prior knowledge of PCS’s move, I do believe it was reckless to post a roadmap with such bold alignment claims without having concrete, confirmed information.
As a result, users like myself suffered losses that could have been avoided if more caution had been shown.
I respectfully ask the team to consider these facts and offer appropriate compensation or a recovery plan for the affected vlCKP users who trusted the roadmap and took actions based on it.
